A mechanical engineering student of the university of Port Harcourt was killed last night by a police van driving one way.
According to sources, yesterday was the young man's birthday and he was on his way back from church when he stopped by the road side at elakahia to get a taxi but unfortunately, he was hit by the rough one way police van.
'The police van after hitting him tried to escape but was stopped by onlookers and eyewitnesses who demanded that the man be taking to hospital.
The police agreed and took him to the University of Portharcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), but on reaching there, they allegedly told the attending nurses that they just picked him while they were driving along NNPC Filling station at Rumuosi and they weren't aware of what had happened to him.
The police up till now are still denying of hitting him despite the eye witnesses who testified.
They set laws, they punish offenders but they offend the law every blessed day but don't get punished.
Shey if a taxi is the one in question, by now only God knows the condition the police will put him into but still they cause havoc and they deny.
